Onboarding

Welcome to Inkblot! This page walks you through everything you need to get set up and productive. Onboarding at Inkblot covers orientation, introductions, shadowing, and support during your first projects.

The following should be prepared by your manager and the operations team before you arrive:

  • Hardware — Confirm your device is ready (laptop, peripherals, charger)
  • Email account — Your @inkblot.co.za email address should be active
  • ClickUp access — Invitation sent to the Inkblot workspace
  • Google Drive access — Shared drives and relevant folders provisioned
  • Figma access — Seat assigned (for design roles)
  • GitHub access — Repository access granted (for development roles)
  • Slack access — Workspace invitation sent
  • Welcome pack — Onboarding guide document shared via Google Drive

Adriana van Rooyen (Project & Operations Manager) coordinates onboarding logistics. Reach her at adriana@inkblot.co.za with any pre-start questions.

Your first day focuses on getting oriented and meeting the team:

  1. Welcome session — Meet with Adriana for a company overview and workspace tour
  2. Introductions — Meet the team (see the Team Directory for who’s who)
  3. Account setup — Log into all tools and verify access (see Tools & Accounts)
  4. Workspace walkthrough — Tour of the ClickUp workspace structure, Google Drive organisation, and communication channels
  5. Read key docs — Review these documentation pages, starting with your department’s page and relevant SOPs
  6. Shadow a team member — Observe how your department handles day-to-day work

Goals for your first week:

  • Understand the workspace structure — Familiarise yourself with the Projects Directory, Internal Operations, and Operations spaces in ClickUp
  • Shadow senior colleagues — Sit in on meetings, observe design reviews or code reviews, and ask questions
  • Complete any assigned onboarding tasks — Check your ClickUp tasks under the Onboarding list in Internal Operations
  • Attend your first team meeting — Get up to speed on active projects and priorities
  • Start your first small task — Your lead will assign a low-risk task to help you learn the workflow
  • Review SOPs — Read through the SOPs relevant to your role (see the SOPs section)

You will need access to the following tools. See Tools & Accounts for full details.
